Refund Policy
Approved by the Board of Directors: August 17, 2020
Partial Season Refund
Members who sustain an injury or illness that prevents them from playing for the remainder of the season may be eligible for a partial refund of Annual Fees. The illness or injury does not need to have been incurred while on Club property. After deducting the amount of a House Membership, the remaining amount reimbursed will be prorated based on the number of full curling series or full months of tennis missed. Members who have played at least one game will retain their standing in the section for the next season.
At the discretion of the Board of Directors, similar refunds may be granted for other extenuating circumstances. This will only be considered for cases that are remarkably similar to that of unforeseen illness or injury.
No refunds will be issued after February 28th.
Full Season Refund
Members may preemptively request a year off for injury or other medical reasons and will be assessed a house membership fee and retain their section status for the year following their medical hiatus. Members who play in the year that they request their hiatus shall be assessed the full applicable fees. Members who do not return in the season following their hiatus shall lose their section status.
Refunds due to a Club Closure
If there are events outside of the control of the club which require, for example, closure of the club, modification of the curling season, and/or delays or alterations in league play or other club activities; the Board of Directors may, based on the particular circumstances, consider paying refunds, partial refunds or no refunds of membership fees. The decision of whether or not to pay refunds in each such particular circumstance will be at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.
