Daniel Nestor Centennial Tennis Exhibition A Huge Success!

What a great event we had last night! It was an honour and pleasure to have Daniel Nestor visit HPC and show us some of his amazing talent. To those who were there, you know what I'm talking about. For those who weren't, you missed a great night.

Our very own John Culotta and David Lee held their own on the court with the pros. Highlights of the night? John goes down the line on Nestor for a winner. And David Lee's claim to fame? Hitting an ace on Nestor on a second serve!! Way to go boys!

We also made it into the Toronto Star, and there was a spot on City TV last night at 11:00!

Thank you to all who helped out with the event. A special thanks to Mike Welch for putting all of this in motion, Joan Kerr who did a tremendous amount of work organizing all the volunteers and making sure everything was set for the evening, and John Culotta for helping organize court details and more.

I'd also like to thank HPC staff and Management for pulling it all together. Jim, Chris and particularly Derek and Sean who worked from 8am to get the courts perfect and to create the beautiful setting we had.

2011 Wimbledon Tournament Crowns it's Winners

This weekend's tournament was a huge success! Thanks to all the participants for coming out. The weather was perfect (although a tad HOT!), but fun was had by all.

The final was a close one, with the winners being declared in a tie-break. John Culotta and Diane Torlone emerged victorious against Laurie Safranka and David Paul. Thanks to all those who stayed until the very end to see the final outcome.
